Su Marmuri
Textile Designer - Sardegna, Italy

The history of Su Marmuri begins in 1971 in Ulassai, Sardinia, when a group of female master weavers dedicated themselves to crafting handwoven wefts to keep ancient local traditions alive. Made of locally sourced natural fibers such as wool, cotton, linen, and hemp, its limited series pieces are woven using the "pibiones" technique, lending a seductively visual and tactile quality. In 1981, the brand started collaborating with international artist Maria Lai, who accepted the challenge of learning the secrets from the weavers while also expanding her own craft.
