The Foyer Concept

Amidst Baroque, Liberty, and Renaissance grandeur, the foyer at Palazzo Donizetti sets the stage for what lies beyond. Australian decorator Simone Haag embraces its Italianate spirit, juxtaposing historic elegance with contemporary collectible design from Italy’s modern vanguards.

Stepping into the space feels like entering a liminal space between bygone era and a future that perfectly reconciles all the generational wisdom and craftsmanship that defines Italian design. Counterbalancing detailed frescoes, decorative balconies, ornate windows, elaborate marble mosaics and jewelled chandeliers dripping floor-ward are layered vignettes that draw you in, making space for you to exist within the geography of the foyer’s magnificent narrative.

Rich mural hues flow into sleek, modern pieces, creating a harmonious interplay of eras—an homage to the enduring legacy of Italian design.
