Elda Armchair by Joe Colombo

This item is currently unavailable for shipping to your selected location.
Designed by Joe Colombo in 1963 and named after his wife, Elda, this armchair is a masterpiece of futuristic furniture of the '60s and '70s on display at the MoMA in New York and at the Louvre in Paris. It is one of the first furnishing objects in which plastic is strengthened by fiberglass. The structure is entirely handmade with anatomically-designed padding of polyurethane foam in different thicknesses, with Dacron cover. Given the special processing, the leather upholstery is not removable. The cover is also available in fabric and the frame comes in other colors upon request.
