Max Bookcase by Ettore Sottsass - Memphis Milano

The aesthetic of Memphis artistic movement distinguishes this unique bookcase designed by Ettore Sottsass in 1987. The lacquered wood structure is a maze of vertical and horizontal elements offering a multitude of display options, while the base in terrazzo tiles adds a dash of vibrant colors to the piece. Two vertical plexiglass elements add a gravity-defying effect to the open compartments. The closed compartment and two drawers are adorned with a wooden front adorned with reconstructed veneer. A plate showcases the number of this piece, part of a limited series.
