Oxblood Lacquer Mat

Designed by John Gachot for the Artemest x Gachot collection, this Side Table features a oxblood lacquer frame. The Little Red Table suggests the fluid, jewel-like form of its larger counterpart in a smaller scale. Offered in small and medium sizes, its rounded, scuptural shape is finished in high-gloss or low-luster black lacquer. A thoughtful notch detail creates a subtle shadow line, accentuating the elegant contrast between interior and exterior. Three gracefully tapered pillars lift the ase, the table delicately balancing on its points.

Artemest unveils a preview of its first-ever furniture collection, designed by New York–based studio GACHOT and crafted by Artemest’s network of Italy’s finest artisans.

The collection is conceived as a dialogue between the clarity and restraint of New York modernism and the depth, tradition, and material richness of Italian craftsmanship. Inspired by the Gachot’s own living room and shaped by decades of work across hospitality and residential design, Artemest Collection by GACHOT is defined by restraint and intention: an exercise in disciplined modernism where material honesty, human warmth, and precision replace excess.

Meet the Designers

GACHOT is a design studio and development consultancy with service at its core. Led by principals John and Christine Gachot, the team brings together diverse skills in brand development, interior design, hospitality, and real estate development to overcome the constraints of physical space and deliver thoughtful, project-specific results.

Inspired by a modern sensibility with an eye towards livable comfort, GACHOT designs unique experiences with a refined aesthetic and a radical sense of place. Notable projects include Pendry Manhattan West, Shinola Hotel, 67 Vestry Residences in TriBeCa, Pebble Bar & Johnny’s, Glossier, Jac’s on Bond, and various private residential projects. GACHOT’s experience in varied disciplines allows the studio to partner with clients on interior design and concept for each project. The studio looks at each project with a wide lens, developing a conceptual narrative with the client that weaves through the design and informs every minute detail. It is a given that the design should look good; that it should work.

GACHOT endeavors to ensure the identity is a complete whole, from the conception of various program elements all the way through to the final built product.
