Le Carousel Plate #4

The Le Carousel Plates are a collection of six porcelain dishes, sold separately, each with a different scene, depicting the Turkish delegation to the celebration of the birth of Louis XIV's son, held at the Louvre. The presence of the delegation is testimony to the importance of the Ottoman Empire at the time, as are the regal costumes and horses.
