Gallo Sculpture

The zoomorphic inspiration behind this exquisite sculpture in terracotta is a fierce rooster ("gallo" in Italian). Handcrafted and molded by hand on the lathe, the stylized silhouette is obtained through a masterful combination of round volumes, distributed throughout to render the specific body parts of the animal while enlivening it with an intense sculptural harmony. The stunning coating consists of multiple layers of liquid clay applied onto the terracotta using the "ingobbio" technique.
