Ariete Vase with Angels

This magnificent vase, inspired by the baroque objects of the 17th and 18th century, features a body in malachite marble, whose vivid shade of green strikingly contrasts with the bronze base, decorations, and lid, and their gold patina. Typical baroque decorations such as little angels and heads of animals (in this case the two rams at each side of the top), coexist along with a classical meander and heart-shaped patterns.
